Frankston leads the way: Sports Gambling Reform + U16 Social Media Ban
A conversation with Tim Costello - Chief Advocate for the Alliance for Gambling Reform, and Wayne Holdsworth – Founder of Smacktalk and Under 16’s Social Media Ban campaigner
Committee for Frankston & Mornington Peninsula members are invited to this special event with Tim Costello and Wayne Holdsworth.
This important conversation will address:
- Former Dunkley MP, the late Peta Murphy’s legacy and determination to deliver substantial gambling reform with her Murphy Report; and why the Federal Government has only delivered on a handful of recommendations (but not the major ones).
- Tim Costello will discuss the scourge of sports gambling and its impact in the local community – and what must be done to address it.
- Wayne Holdsworth, will detail his journey and impact in forcing both sides of politics to lead world first legislation banning social media for under 16s. How the campaign worked and what Mac’s legacy now looks like today for other young kids.
Whether it is through the late Peta Murphy's advocacy and fierce determination to implement the Murphy Report, Wayne Holdsworth's drive for change, or Tim Costello's fight he's taking right up to the government; these two major reforms and national social changes were driven in Frankston by community leaders.
We hope you can join us for this important conversation.
