I have worked in construction as an electrical mechanic and, over the course of the last 5 decades, have become a go to guy for air filtration selections and applications, I am a member of an Australian Standards committee that has recently bought our Air Filtration standards up to global levels of methodology and am an active member of a couple of special technical groups with our major industry group AIRAH, my wife and 2 kids have enjoyed to environment and facilities the Mornington Peninsula has offered and we have been, living here for the last 15 years.

2. Are you a member of a political party, or are you endorsed or affiliated with a political party?

I am a member of the Australian Labor Party but not endorsed

3. What do you see as the key issues facing the Mornington Peninsula Shire?

1. support for seniors in regards to access to community support groups to promote inclusion. Likewise the support for youth and childcare support services to ensure community participation. 2. Maintenance and extension of footpaths and walking/cycling track to promote community enviromental engagement and health. 3. Ensure recreational and sporting facilities are, not only fit for purpose, encourage community engagement and participation. 4. Protect the Green Wedge Zone and ensure more tree planting is applied to provide better health, comfort and energy outcomes for the community.

4. What skills and experience will you bring to your role if elected to Mornington Peninsula Shire Council?

Experience in participation of special interest technical groups along with an Australian Standards committees that provide better parameters of product performance for consumer awareness

5 Do you support the re-zoning of surplus Port-zoned SUZ-1 land to industrial and residential, to assist in keeping high-tech manufacturing jobs on the Mornington Peninsula and provide long-term strategic planning to the housing crisis in our region?

6. What role do you believe local government can play to help Mornington Peninsula Shire Council reach the Victorian Government’s ambitious housing targets of 31,000 new dwellings by 2050?

Encourage the construction of sensible housing development and particularly encourage inclusion of public and social housing and build to permanently rent options

7. Do you support efforts to redevelop Rosebud Hospital? What tangible role can local government play in advocating for funding for this project?

Yes, I think that Council can assist by lobbying State government to redevelop Rosebud Hospital as a base for limited emergency/casualty facility

8. Why should ratepayers vote for you?

I will be a voice for seniors as well as an advocate for, particularly our youth that may not have had the privileges of a stable home life. What matters to me, is not just the state of the environment we live in and access to it, but the safety and well being of the generations to follow.

9. If you are elected, what would you like your legacy to be at the end of your four year term?

To have made a difference by moving to an inclusive and united council, for the benefit of the community as a whole

10. How important to you is the relationship between Mornington Peninsula Shire and the Committee for Frankston & Mornington Peninsula? What would you do as a councilor to maintain and improve that relationship?

I believe the relationship between MPSC and all community groups, including the CFMP, is critical to representing all community interests. If elected to council, my priority will be to engage with groups like the CFMP, so that I can listen to and understand the issues and challenges they face, in order to benefit the community.
