I am not a member of a political party; am not affiliated with any and have never run for election at any level of government.

Better maintenance of the Shire's infrastructure, including roads; tighter fiscal control; and a greater level of community engagement by the Council. A freeze on rates and levies especially at a time when the cost of living is impacting heavily on residents.

I bring an extensive and sound background in finance and economic management with over 25 years experience in both the corporate and Tertiary teaching Sector. I will ensure transparency, accountability, and clear communication within the council, making decisions that directly benefit the community. I will eliminate divisive behaviour, foster respectful dialogue, and actively encourage community input. My focus will be on creating a more efficient, collaborative governance that effectively addresses the real needs of residents.

I support the strategic re-zoning of surplus Port-zoned SUZ-1 land to industrial and residential use, provided it aligns with sustainable growth and community needs. This approach can help retain high-tech manufacturing jobs on the Peninsula, strengthen the local economy, and contribute to addressing the long-term housing crisis through thoughtful, well-planned development.

Local government plays a crucial role in increasing housing supply by facilitating strategic land use planning, streamlining the development approval process, and ensuring infrastructure supports growth. By prioritizing sustainable, mixed-use developments, the council can help meet the demand for affordable housing while preserving the Peninsula's character. Collaborating with state government, developers, and community stakeholders will be key to achieving the Victorian Government's housing targets, while addressing local concerns and maintaining a balance between growth and environmental protection.

I fully support efforts to redevelop Rosebud Hospital, as it is essential to meet the healthcare needs of our growing community. Local government can play a pivotal role by actively lobbying state and federal governments for funding, collaborating with healthcare providers, and ensuring the community's voice is heard. Tangible actions include forming partnerships, submitting funding proposals, and leveraging local data to highlight the critical need for redevelopment. By engaging with stakeholders and maintaining pressure, local government can help secure the necessary resources for this important project.

Ratepayers should vote for me because I am committed to delivering better value for money, freezing rates, and ensuring much tighter fiscal control. As a long-term resident, I understand the community’s needs and will work hard to improve infrastructure and services while reducing financial burdens. My focus is on practical solutions, fair rates, and responsible spending to benefit all residents. Without political ties, I will prioritize the community’s best interests and bring a fresh, results-driven approach to local government.

If elected, I would like my legacy to be one of meaningful change, where residents saw real improvements in their daily lives—fairer rates, much better infrastructure, especially roads, and a stronger, more engaged community. I aim to leave behind a council known for its fiscal responsibility, transparency, and collaboration, where local voices were heard and respected.

The relationship between the Mornington Peninsula Shire and the Committee for Frankston & Mornington Peninsula is crucial for driving regional development and ensuring that local businesses thrive. As a councillor, I would prioritize open communication, collaboration, and regular engagement with the committee to align on shared goals. By working closely together, we can advocate for strategic projects, support local business growth, and address regional challenges. I would actively participate in joint initiatives and ensure that both the Shire and the Committee work in partnership to create a prosperous environment for local businesses and the broader community.
