Michael Stephens
Warringine Ward, Mornington Peninsula Shire

Tell us about yourself!

I’ve lived and worked on the Mornington Peninsula for 40 years. For over 30 years, I’ve worked as a Licensed Plumber and operated my own Plumbing business.

I’m standing now because Warringine deserves a councillor who listens to community, works hard, and can be trusted to deliver quality and reliable service.

Now that our council has changed to 11 single councillor Wards, instead of a mix of multi and single councillor areas. All 11 Wards have similar population density. This change should make it easier to track how council funding is allocated to each individual Ward area.
If I am elected, one of my major priorities will be to level up the funding allocation to Warringine Ward.

Warringine Ward needs an open and attentive Councilor with a commitment to strategic planning.to ensure council decisions look to our future.

I will be focusing on Responsible council spending. Making sure Warringine gets a fairer share of the spending pie, and keeping rates low.

I will support council to investigate measures to address the housing and rental crises, which is having devastating effects on Warringine residents.
