CFMP meets with Victorian Opposition Leader

CFMP CEO Josh Sinclair recently met with Victorian Opposition Leader Brad Battin, alongside the Member for Mornington Chris Crewther, to discuss the Committee's key advocacy goals ahead of next year's Victorian State Election.

Key advocacy projects of interest to the Committee at the Victorian State Election include:

  • The long and overdue upgrade of Rosebud Hospital
  • Getting our fair share from Victorian Government to deal with regional challenges in a metropolitan policy setting
  • Supporting the industry associated with the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal in Hastings, and wider use for surplus port-zoned land for commercial, industrial and residential purposes.
  • More support from the Government on housing, particularly noting the Mornington Peninsula records the worst homelessness rate in all of Metropolitan Melbourne.
  • Improving the Stony Point line between Frankston and Hastings, including key projects like the Stony Point uplift.
  • Gaining and attracting further private and public investment into Frankston's CBD and Frankston Metropolitan Activity Centre.
  • Support for changes to tax schemes that have a detrimental impact to business on the Mornington Peninsula, like payroll tax changes which acknowledge our regional challenges.

We look forward to welcoming the Leader of the Opposition back to Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula before the end of the year to meet with our members.

Thank you to the Member for Mornington, Chris Crewther MP, for facilitating this important conversation!
