Rosebud Hospital Redevelopment - Government must match Opposition
The redevelopment of Rosebud Hospital is a key priority project identified by the Committee for Frankston & Mornington Peninsula.
It features prominently in our Strategic Plan 2025-2030, and more recently, it is one of eight key priorities identified in our Benchmarking Frankston-Mornington Peninsula report.
The Committee welcomes the Victorian Opposition’s budgeted $340 million commitment to ‘completely rebuild the Rosebud Hospital’ - announced on Saturday, 14 March by Victorian Opposition Leader Jess Wilson, and her local candidate Anthony Marsh.
In response, the Committee continues to call on the Victorian Government to match this commitment and deliver upgrades to Rosebud Hospital in this year’s Victorian Budget.
During the Nepean by-election, we have seen Rosebud Hospital identified by several candidates as an important issue to the southern peninsula community.
Major party commitments are important, and one of this magnitude emphasises the importance this issue has in our local community.
But elections are made up of many candidates, and we welcome further candidate pledges and commitments to the redevelopment of Rosebud Hospital.
Despite the Victorian Government choosing to not field a candidate at this by-election, the Committee will continue to call on the Victorian Government to deliver better healthcare on the southern peninsula.
Note: Candidates identified for the upcoming Nepean By-election include:
- Anthony Marsh, Liberal (Opposition)
- Tracee Hutchison, Independent
- Darren Hercus, One Nation
- Peter Angelico, Libertarian
- Sianan Healy, Greens
- [No Candidate - Victorian Labor]
