BIO

I moved with my family to the Peninsula 20 years ago, when I established and ran a hospitality business in Balnarring. In 2007, I moved to Mt Eliza, where I have since been running my own human resources consultancy. I have always been actively involved in community organizations and have regularly held leadership positions. For the past four years, I’ve been a member of the Mornington Peninsula Shire’s Disability Advisory Committee. I am also on the Shire’s Best Bites Committee and am a Board Member of Southern Peninsula Community Support & Information Centre. In these roles I have achieved success driving improvements to local access, inclusion and assistance to the disadvantaged and have established a reputation for being strategic, action- oriented, considered and consultative. As a Councillor, I would like now to utilise my skills and experience to achieve positive change across a broader range of community issues.

My committee experience has also given me valuable insight into Shire strategies and practices, and a clear understanding of the responsibility for quickly setting the direction post-COVID, and for managing the $240 Million budget and $2 Billion in ratepayer assets. Over the next few years many key Council decisions will need to be made. These will have significant impacts on local job opportunities, overall economic growth, community wellbeing, transportation, the metro/regional divide, protection of our green wedge and the mitigation of the implications of climate change. It will be essential to have strong, sensible voices on Council to ensure that the Shire listens to the community and lives up to its responsibilities and in what will be a critical recovery period. If I am successfully elected; I will engage, I will listen, and I will work diligently to represent all of the residents and businesses of the Peninsula.
